Starting Lineup

Juventus plays with a 3-4-3 formation. The team focuses on a high press and vertical attacking play. This lineup is built to win the ball back high up the pitch and attack quickly to catch the opponent.

The defence works as a back three. 6 acts as the left centre-back, 3 is the central defender, and 8 is the right centre-back. 6 and 8 can step up to help the midfield or cover the wide areas. 3 stays central to win headers and protect the middle. They defend zonally to keep the lines tight and squeeze the space.

The midfield relies on a central pairing. 14 and 18 work as the two central midfielders to shield the defence. They try to win the second ball and recycle possession to keep the pressure on. 11 and 17 provide width in the wide areas. 11 and 17 must track back to help the central duo and help the back three when the team drops into a mid-block to deny the turn.

Three attackers lead the way. 10 works as a lone striker to press the opposition back line. 7 and 9 are wide attackers who cut inside to find goal scoring positions. 7 and 9 look to move in behind the defence and receive the ball in space. The team uses combinations in tight spaces to find the feet of the striker or play through the lines to split the defence.

A major strength for Juventus is the use of wide overloads. When 11 and 17 push forward, they create extra players to help the attack and stretch the defence. The team also has the ability to press in coordinated waves to win the ball back high up the pitch and force a long ball from the opposition, which creates chances to score quickly.

This formation is ideal for a high intensity game where the team wants to squeeze the pitch. It is best used against opponents who struggle to play short from the back.
