Arda and Jude operate in the half spaces, with Jude acting as a carrier to progress through the thirds. This midfield unit is designed to press in a mid-block and squeeze the space to prevent the opposition from playing out from the back.

In the attacking third, Real Madrid uses three forwards to stretch the defence. Mbappe acts as the central striker, looking to find the feet of the striker or make runs in behind.
