Persib Football Formation
Starting Lineup
Fitrah · Julio · Hamra · Kakang · Luciano · Klok · Berg · Barros · Beckham · Tanque · DionPersib aims to play a high press game using a 4-3-3 formation. This lineup is built to win the ball high up the pitch and move quickly toward the opposition goal. The team uses intense pressure to force mistakes and creates chances through quick vertical movements.
Fitrah stays between the posts to command the area and organize the defense. The back line operates as a flat back four with Kakang and Dion acting as full backs to provide width. Julio and Hamra form the central pairing where Julio plays as a ball playing defender and Hamra focuses on covering the space behind. The unit works together to hold a high line and squeeze the space between the lines.
The midfield consists of a three-man midfield with a carrier to manage the tempo. Klok works to shield the defense and wins the second ball in the middle of the pitch. Luciano operates as an inverted eight to connect the defensive and attacking lines while Berg plays as an attacking ten behind the striker. Berg looks to arrive late into the box to add a threat. This group works to recycle possession and move the ball through the thirds.
In the attacking phase, Persib utilizes three attackers across the front. Tanque acts as a pressing centre-forward to pin the last defender and hold up the ball for others. Beckham and Barros operate as inverted wingers who cut inside to create central overloads. They look to play one-two combinations with Berg to break the line. The movement of these players is designed to create runs in behind and isolate defenders in one on one situations.
This formation offers several tactical advantages for Persib. The team can achieve numerical superiority in midfield when Berg joins the advance movement. There is also a high ability to press high in coordinated waves to win it back high up the pitch. This setup allows the team to stretch the defence by using the wide positions of Beckham and Barros.
The 4-3-3 formation provides a strong platform for high pressing and quick transitions. It is best suited for matches against teams that struggle to play out from the back.
