Starting Lineup

Boca plays with a high press and a heavy focus on verticality using a 4-3-3. This formation is built to win the ball back high up the pitch and move quickly toward the opponent's goal. The team looks to stretch the opposition through wide play while maintaining enough bodies in the middle to control the tempo of the game.

Montero acts as the last line of defense behind a flat back four. Lozano plays as the right back and can push high to join the attack, while Blanco operates at left back to provide width. In the center, Di Lollo and Costa form the defensive pairing, with Di Lollo often tasked with covering space and Costa acting as a dominant presence in the air. This defensive unit works to squeeze the space between the lines and force the opponent to play long.

The midfield operates with a single pivot and two advanced eight roles. Delgado sits in front of the defense to shield the back line and recycle possession. Paredes and Aranda play as the two central midfielders, with Paredes often looking to carry the ball forward and Aranda working to link the defensive and attacking lines. Attacking the opponent relies on three players across the front. Merentiel acts as a pressing centre forward who fights for every ball and looks to run in behind the defense. On the flanks, Villa and Flores act as wide wingers who look to cut inside to create goalscoring chances. This front line uses combinations in tight spaces to pull the defenders out of position and creates many chances through quick transitions and wide overloads.

One major strength for Boca is the ability to press high in coordinated waves, making it difficult for opponents to build from the back. The team also benefits from the speed of transition when Delgado or Paredes win the ball and immediately find the wide players. This allows the team to isolate wide players in one on one situations against the full backs.
