Japan National Football Team Formation
Starting Lineup
Tokyo 路 Ainme 路 Goku 路 Mount fuji 路 Tokyo tower 路 Kubo 路 Jojo 路 馃椉 路 Ghj 路 Fuck 路 GoJapan aims to play a high pressing game through an aggressive 3-3-4 formation. This lineup focuses on overwhelming the opposition in the final third and winning the ball high up the pitch to create immediate scoring chances. By crowding the attacking areas, the team seeks to punish opponents who try to play out from the back.
In goal, Go acts as the last line of defense. The back line consists of a back three with Fuck as the right centre-back, Ghj occupying the middle spot, and 馃椉 playing as the left centre-back. This unit functions to defend zonally while maintaining a high line to squeeze the space. The defenders must be ready to step up and catch opponents offside or cover the space left behind when the midfield pushes forward.
The midfield operates as a three-man midfield with a carrier. Jojo and Tokyo tower occupy the central roles, while Kubo works to connect the defensive and attacking lines. Jojo and Tokyo tower are tasked to press aggressively to win the ball high, while Kubo looks to carry the ball forward and recycle possession when the initial press is broken. This trio works to compress the midfield and ensure there is no gap between the defensive unit and the forwards.
The attack utilizes four players to stretch the defence. Ainme and Mount fuji act as wide wingers who hug the touchline to provide maximum width, while Goku and Tokyo operate as two forwards in a partnership. Goku and Tokyo work to find the feet of the striker and run in behind the defensive line. The wingers look to get to the byline and whip it in for the two central attackers, creating constant pressure on the opposition back line through rapid combinations.
Japan gains a major advantage through their ability to press high in coordinated waves. This setup allows the team to create wide overloads when the wingers and midfielders move in unison. The presence of four attackers makes it very difficult for a standard back four to track all the runners, often leading to one on one situations for Mount fuji and Ainme.
This 3-3-4 formation is designed for a high intensity game where winning the ball back quickly is the priority. It is best suited for matches against teams that struggle to play under pressure or those that sit deep and defend in a low block.
