Prezzabile/Guadalupo works in the right central midfield to drive forward with the ball and break the line. Brasolin operates on the left to help press in a mid block and win the ball back. La Piana sits in the space behind the strikers to act as a playmaker who can arrive late into the box and pick up runners.

The attacking unit uses a partnership of two strikers to lead the press from the front. Carbonaro and Manfre' work in tandem to challenge the opposition center backs. Carbonaro often acts as a target man to hold up the ball and lay it off to teammates. Manfre' looks to make runs in behind to exploit the space left by a high defensive line. The team looks to attack in combinations, using wide players to whip it in or deliver early crosses to the two forwards.

One major advantage is the ability to press in coordinated waves to win the ball high up the pitch. The presence of two strikers allows the team to pin the last defender and create room in the pockets for others to operate. Mantova also benefits from the speed of transition, as they can move from a mid block to an attacking position very quickly. This creates many one on one situations for the wide players to exploit.
