Celtic Football Formation
Starting Lineup
Høgh · Hassan · Duran (Osmand) · Cal mac · Baur (New) · Nygren · Tierney · Sinisalo · AJ · CCV · TrustyCeltic focuses on aggressive attacking and high pressure in a 4-3-3. This formation is built to win the ball back high up the pitch and move the play forward with speed. The team aims to dominate the ball and use wide areas to stretch the opposition.
Sinisalo plays between the posts to start the build up from the back. A flat back four protects the goal, with Tierny acting as an attacking full back on the left. AJ provides balance on the right, ready to overlap or sit deep depending on the game. In the center, CCV and Trusty defend zonally. CCV uses his aerial strength to defend crosses, while Trusty covers the space behind when the full backs push up. The unit works to squeeze the space and keep the lines close together.
The midfield is a three-man midfield with a carrier. Cal mac acts as the engine, driving forward with the ball to link the defense and attack. Baur provides balance, helping to shield the defense and win the second ball. Nygren operates as the attacking ten, sitting in the hole to create chances and making late runs into the box. This trio works to control the tempo and ensure the team can progress through the thirds quickly.
Celtic utilizes three attackers across the front to pin the last defender. Høgh acts as a lone striker, holding up the ball to allow others to join the attack. Duran and Hassan play as inverted wingers who cut inside to create goalscoring opportunities. Duran looks to attack the near post, while Hassan tries to find space in the half spaces. They press from the front to force a long ball from the opposition.
The formation offers several tactical advantages. There is a high ability to press high in coordinated waves, making it difficult for opponents to play out from the back. The team can create wide overloads from overlapping full backs like Tierny. Celtic also benefits from a speed of transition that catches the opposition out of position.
This 4-3-3 formation is built for a team that wants to dominate possession and force mistakes through heavy pressing. It is best suited for matches against sides that struggle to play under pressure or leave space behind their midfield.
