Mike operates as an attacking ten behind the strikers. He moves into the half spaces to create chances and makes late runs into the box to support the forward line.

In the final third, the team uses two forwards in a partnership. Sean and Kie lead the line to pin the last defender and create space for Mike. Sean works as a pressing centre-forward to disrupt the opposition build up, while Kie acts to hold up the ball and lay it off to oncoming runners. The attack relies on combinations between the front three to play through the lines. They look to hit in behind on the transition or use the width provided by Joe and Coops to deliver crosses into the area.

This formation offers great compactness when defending a lead. The presence of three central defenders makes the team very difficult to break down centrally. Furthermore, the team can create wide overloads when the wing backs overlap the midfielders to overwhelm the opposition flanks.
