Starting Lineup

Salford seeks to dominate games through a vertical style of play with a 3-5-2 formation. This lineup is built to win the second ball and transition quickly from defense to attack. The attack features two forwards working in a partnership. Lux and Ellis lead the line as the two strikers. They focus on link-up play between the lines to pull the defenders out of position. Lux often looks to hold up the ball, allowing Ellis to make runs in behind the opposition back line. They press from the front to force a long ball and win it back high up the pitch. This movement creates chances for the midfielders to arrive late into the box.

This formation offers significant tactical advantages through numerical superiority in midfield. Having five players in the center allows the team to press in a mid-block and dominate possession in the middle third. Additionally, the wide players Brad and George can create overloads when they overlap the winger, forcing the opposition to defend much wider spaces.
