Starting Lineup

Balsa · Peralta · Menalo · berguinho · Haye · Gakuto · Mutombo · Matricardi · Walsh · reijnder · Teja

Persib focus on playing with a high press and quick transitions through a 4-3-3 formation. This lineup aims to win the ball high up the pitch to catch the opposition before they can get organized. The team uses this system to stretch the defence and create chances through vertical movements.

Teja sits between the posts to command the area and act as the first point of distribution. The back line works as a flat back four where Walsh acts as an attacking full back to provide width on the right. On the left, reijnder pushes up to support the play while Matricardi and Mutombo form the central pairing. Matricardi plays as a ball playing defender to help build out from the back, while Mutombo focuses on being dominant in the air and covering space. The unit shifts together to maintain a high line and set the offside trap.

The midfield operates with a three man midfield with a carrier. Gakuto plays as a single pivot to shield the defence and intercept passes in the middle third. Ahead of him, Haye works to connect the defensive and attacking lines by recycling possession and playing through the lines. berguinho plays as an attacking ten behind the striker, looking to arrive late into the box and create chances from the half spaces. This group works to compress the midfield and win the second ball to keep the pressure on the opponent.

Persib utilize three attackers across the front to pin the last defender. Balsa acts as a pressing centre-forward to lead the line and hold up the ball for others. On the flanks, Peralta operates as an inverted winger who cuts inside to shoot, while Menalo stays wider to stretch the defence. These movements allow for overlaps from the full backs and create space for Balsa to find the feet of the striker. The forwards press from the front to force a long ball and win the ball back high up the pitch.

One major advantage for Persib is the ability to press high in coordinated waves to disrupt the opponent build up. The combination of Gakuto sitting deep and the front three pressing high creates a compact block that is difficult to play through. Another strength is the wide overloads created when Walsh and Menalo combine to isolate a one on one wide situation. This creates constant tension on the flanks.

This 4-3-3 formation relies on high energy and quick recovery to dominate games. It is best suited for facing teams that try to play out from the back under heavy pressure.
