The front line features three attackers to stretch the defense. Malen leads the line as a pressing centre-forward to find space and knock it in behind. Soulè or Pellegrini plays on the right wing to cut inside and create chances. X occupies the left side to provide width and make runs in behind. The forwards work to hit in behind on the transition to catch the opposition out of position. They use quick passes to progress through the thirds and look to deliver a cross on the run.

One major advantage for Roma is the ability to create wide overloads. When Wesley and Angelinho push high, they can overwhelm the opposition flanks. Another strength is the compactness when defending. The team can also use the speed of transition to exploit gaps left by the opponent.
