The unit works to stay compact and squeeze the space between the defense and the midfield.

A three man midfield provides the engine for Celtic. McGregor plays as the right central midfielder and Engels acts as the left central midfielder. They connect the defense to the attack while Nygren plays as an attacking ten behind the strikers to find pockets of space. Tierney and Johnston form a double pivot to shield the defense and recycle possession. McGregor is known for his passing range and ability to control the game, while Tierney and Johnston focus on breaking the line and winning the second ball.

The attacking unit utilizes two forwards in a partnership. Høgh plays as the left striker and Durán operates as the right striker.
