Starting Lineup

Cris · Lokothe (Javier) · Ragnar (Karin) · Moi · Guacamole · Gato · Spit · Leo (Luis) · Torres (Roberts) · Amis · Ricky

Chelsea favors a direct and heavy pressing style of play, operating within a 3-5-2 formation. This lineup is built to dominate the center of the pitch and win the ball back high up the pitch to catch opponents out of position. The system relies on intense physical presence and quick transitions to move the ball forward through the middle.

Guacamole starts in goal to manage the defensive line from deep. The back three consists of Lokothe acting as the central defender to hold the line and cover space, while Moi and Ragnar operate as the wide centre-backs. Moi and Ragnar must be ready to step up into the midfield or shift wide to handle runners. This defensive unit works together to maintain compactness and squeeze the space between the lines, making it difficult for opposition attackers to find room.

The midfield utilizes a three-man midfield with a carrier to control the tempo. Spit and Gato act as a double pivot to shield the defence, with Spit focusing on cutting off the passing lane to the opposition attackers. In front of them, Cris, Leo, and Torres operate in the half-spaces to connect the defence and attack. Leo and Torres provide the engine to drive forward with the ball, while Cris helps to recycle possession and find the feet of the striker. This midfield group aims to win the second ball and press aggressively to disrupt the opponent.

Chelsea employs two forwards in a partnership to lead the attack. Amis and Ricky operate as a duo, often looking to combine in tight spaces or run in behind the defence. Amis can act as a pressing centre-forward to trigger a press, while Ricky looks to hold up the ball and lay it off to the oncoming midfielders. The formation creates natural passing triangles between the wide midfielders and the two strikers, allowing the team to play through the lines or use quick one-two combinations to break the defensive block.

One major advantage for Chelsea is the numerical superiority in midfield, which allows them to control the center and press in coordinated waves. The presence of three central midfielders allows the team to pin the last defender and dominate the middle third. Additionally, the formation offers great flexibility to shift between shapes, as the wide midfielders can drop back to form a five-man line when defending deep.

This 3-5-2 formation provides a heavy central presence and intense pressing power. It is best suited for games where the team needs to dominate possession and overwhelm the opposition in the middle of the pitch.
