Starting Lineup

Coosemans · Ludwig · Petrot · Biancone · Maamar · Llansana · Saliba · Nga Kana · Sikan · Seke · Cvet

Anderlecht looks to control games through a high press and quick transitions in this 4-3-3. The lineup is built to win the ball high up the pitch and use verticality to punish teams before they can settle. This formation allows the squad to maintain constant pressure on the opposition while keeping enough bodies back to protect against the counter.

Coosemans starts between the posts to organize the defensive unit. The back line operates as a flat back four where Maamar and Ludwig provide the width. Maamar works to support the attack while Ludwig must track back to cover the flank. In the center, Biancone and Petrot act as the main pillars of the defense. Biancone is tasked to step up and intercept passes, while Petrot focuses on being dominant in the air and covering the space behind. The defensive unit shifts together to squeeze the space between the lines.

The midfield functions as a three-man midfield with a carrier and an attacking ten. Llansana and Saliba work to shield the defense and recycle possession. Saliba is able to carry the ball forward to drive the team into the final third, while Llansana helps to pick up runners and win the second ball. Nga Kana plays as the attacking ten behind the striker, operating in the pockets to connect the lines. Nga Kana is responsible to press aggressively to win the ball high and find the feet of the striker in tight spaces.

Anderlecht utilizes three attackers across the front to stretch the defense. Sikan acts as a pressing centre-forward to pin the last defender and fight for long balls. On the wings, Seke and Cvet act as inverted wingers who cut inside to create central threats. This movement allows the full backs to provide width and overlap the winger. The attack is designed to create runs in behind and deliver crosses into the box when the opposition defense is pulled wide.

One major strength is the ability to press high in coordinated waves, especially with Nga Kana leading the charge. The formation also offers wide overloads when Maamar and Ludwig push up to support Seke and Cvet. This creates numerical superiority in the attacking half and makes it difficult for the opponent to defend the wide areas.

This 4-3-3 formation focuses on aggressive pressing and rapid vertical play. It is best suited for matches against teams that struggle to play out from the back or leave gaps between the midfield and defense.
