The midfield relies on a double pivot to control the center of the pitch. El Aynaoui and Konè work to shield the defense and win the second ball. Konè uses his strength to carry the ball forward and drive through the thirds to break the lines. El Aynaoui connects the defensive and attacking lines by recycling possession and finding the feet of the attackers. Together they aim to compress the midfield and deny the pivot of the opposition by picking up runners.

In the final third, the team uses three attackers to stretch the defense. Malen plays as a lone striker to hold up the ball and pin the last defender. On the right, Soulè or Pellegrini acts as an inverted winger to cut inside and create chances in the half spaces. X plays on the left to provide width and whip it in from wide areas. The team looks to attack in combinations and use the wing backs to overlap the winger for cutbacks from the byline.

A major strength of this formation is the ability to create wide overloads. When Wesley pushes forward, he creates numerical superiority on the right flank to isolate the opposition winger.
