Starting Lineup

Salford prefers to play with a heavy vertical presence through a 3-5-2. This formation is built to play with quick transitions and directness to catch the opposition out of position. The team looks to win the ball and move it forward rapidly to the forwards.

Ellis stays between the posts to organize the defensive line. The back three consists of Benjamin in the center, with Kian as the left centre-back and Evan as the right centre-back. Benjamin acts as the central anchor to clear the lines and win headers, while Kian and Evan cover the wide areas to manage runners in behind. They defend zonally to keep a compact line when the team sits deep.

The midfield operates with a single pivot and two central midfielders supported by wide players. Ben sits in front of the defense to shield the back three and intercept passes. Marcus and Bdon act as the central engines, with Marcus working to carry the ball forward and Bdon looking to win the second ball in the middle of the pitch. Brad and George provide the width, pushing high up the pitch to act as wing backs when the team is in possession.

Salford attacks using two forwards in a partnership. Shiesty and Lux work closely together to link up play between the lines. Shiesty often looks to hold up the ball to allow the midfielders to join the attack, while Lux looks to make runs in behind the defenders. Brad and George spread wide to stretch the defence, allowing Lux and Shiesty to find space in the channels or receive the ball in tight spaces.

This 3-5-2 offers significant tactical advantages. The presence of Brad and George allows for wide overloads when they push up to join the attack. Salford also benefits from numerical superiority in the central midfield when Ben, Marcus, and Bdon combine to control the middle. The unit is able to compress the midfield quickly to force a long ball from the opponent.
