The midfield acts as the engine room, functioning as a five man line that provides both width and central control. Hakimi operates as a right midfielder, often pushing high to overlap the attack, while Nuno Mendes performs similar duties on the left. In the middle, J. Névés shields the defence and recovers possession, allowing Vitinha to carry the ball forward and progress through the thirds with his passing range. D. Doué plays as an attacking ten behind the striker, looking to find pockets of space and play through the lines to link the midfield to the front three.

PSG attacks with three players across the front to stretch the defence. O. Dembélé operates as a central presence, using his dribbling style to hold up the ball and pull defenders out of position. On the flanks, B. Barcola and K. Kvaratskhelia act as inverted wingers who cut inside to create goalscoring chances. These wide attackers often look to receive on the half-turn and drive at the back line, creating space for the wide midfielders to whip it in or arrive late into the box.
