ES Sahel aims to play a direct and vertical style of football through a 5-2-3 formation. This lineup relies on a strong defensive base to absorb pressure before hitting teams quickly on the transition. The goal is to maintain a solid block and use the width provided by the wing backs to stretch the opposition.

Sabri ben hsan sits between the posts to command his area and organize the defensive line. The back five consists of a central trio featuring Ochigbo, Mohamed hssine, and H.Dagdoug. Ochigbo acts as the central anchor to win headers and clear the lines. Mohamed hssine and H.Dagdoug provide cover to the sides, allowing the wing backs to push high. Adem Aouana operates as an attacking wing back on the right, while Azmi ghouma provides similar width on the left. This defensive unit stays compact to deny space in the middle.

The midfield operates with a two man core to manage the center of the pitch. Sangare-Diakhite acts as the single pivot to shield the defence and recycle possession. Ahead of him, A.BenDhiaf and O.Abid play as two attacking tens. These players are tasked to connect the defensive and attacking lines by finding space between the opposition midfield and defence. They look to carry the ball forward or play through the lines to feed the front three.

In the final third, ES Sahel uses three attackers to pin the last defender. A.Fajjari operates as a lone striker to hold up the ball and lead the press from the front. On the flanks, Yassin Rjab and Senghor-Smichi act as wide wingers who look to cut inside and create central presence. The team builds attacks by using the wing backs to provide overlaps, allowing the wingers to move into the half spaces. They look to hit in behind on the transition to catch the opponent out of position.

This formation offers several tactical advantages for the club. The back five ensures a high level of compactness when defending against teams that use many forwards. By using Adem Aouana and Azmi ghouma as wide outlets, the team creates wide overloads that force the opposition to pull players out of position. The presence of two attacking tens behind A.Fajjari allows for quick combinations in tight spaces.

ES Sahel utilizes this 5-2-3 to remain defensively solid while staying dangerous on the break. This lineup is best suited for games against ball dominant teams where the club needs to sit deep and strike with pace.
