Starting Lineup
BERND (LENO) · TIMOTHY (CASTAGNE) · JOACHIM (ANDERSEN) · CALVIN (BASSEY) · ANTONEE (ROBINSON) · SANDER (BERGE) · SASA (LUKIC) · EMILE (SMITH-ROWE) · OSCAR (BOBB) · KEVIN · GONZALO (GARCÍA)Fulham looks to control games through high pressing and quick vertical movements in a 4-3-3. This formation is built to press from the front and win it back high up the pitch to catch opponents out of position. The team seeks to use the width of the pitch to stretch the defence and create openings through rapid transitions.
BERND starts in goal to command the area and sweep behind a high line when the team pushes forward. The back four works as a unit with TIMOTHY acting as an attacking full back to provide width on the right. ANTONEE plays on the left and can overlap the winger to send crosses into the box. In the middle, JOACHIM and CALVIN defend as a central pair, with JOACHIM acting as a ball playing defender to help play out from the back while CALVIN focuses on winning the second ball.
The midfield consists of a three-man midfield with a carrier and creative outlets. SASA works in the right central role to protect the back line and press in a mid-block when needed. SANDER operates on the left to connect the defensive and attacking lines by carrying the ball forward. EMILE plays as an attacking ten behind the striker, finding pockets of space to receive on the half-turn and play through the lines. This unit works to compress the midfield and deny the turn of opposition players.
The attacking front line uses three attackers across the front to pin the last defender. OSCAR plays as an inverted winger on the right to cut inside and look for goal, while KEVIN stays wide on the left to stretch the play. GONZALO acts as a pressing centre-forward to lead the hunt for the ball and find the feet of the striker during build up. The movements are designed to create runs in behind and allow the full backs to overlap the winger for cutbacks from the byline.
Fulham offers significant tactical advantages through their ability to press high in coordinated waves. By using the front three to trigger a press, they can force a long ball from the opposition. Another strength is the ability to create wide overloads when TIMOTHY and OSCAR combine to isolate a defender. This setup allows for rapid attacks in transition to catch the opponent before they can settle.
This 4-3-3 formation provides a balance of wide attacking threat and central pressing intensity. It is best suited for matches against teams that struggle to play out from the back under heavy pressure.
