Avaí focuses on a direct and compact style of play through a 5-3-2 formation. This lineup aims to sit deep and strike quickly when opportunities arise. The team relies on a strong defensive block to frustrate opponents before looking to break through the lines using the speed of their attackers.

Nery stays between the posts to command the penalty area. The defense operates with a back three consisting of Willians, Chris, and Duglas. Willians acts as the central anchor to clear the lines, while Chris and Duglas cover the channels. To provide width, Meme and Ulices operate as attacking wing backs, pushing high to support the attack when the team has the ball. This five man unit stays close together to squeeze the space and make it difficult for the opposition to play through the middle.
