Pepe sits in the center to shield the defense and recycle possession, while Elmer and Diego occupy the half spaces to drive forward with the ball. Diego and Elmer must work to win the second ball and press in a mid-block to disrupt the opponent. Avaí uses two forwards in a partnership to lead the line. Eduardo and Alexis act as the primary threats, looking to run in behind the defenders during transitions.
