Custom Team Football Formation
Starting Lineup
Imam · Anup · Shahin · Ashok · Mamun · Shagor · Issac · Anis · Probir · Jobaer · RituPrioritizing defensive solidity and rapid transitions, this team utilizes a 5-2-3 formation. The lineup is designed to sit deep when out of possession and use the width of the pitch to stretch the opposition. This system relies on defensive compactness to force the opponent into wide areas before launching quick vertical attacks.
Shahin guards the goal as the last line of defense. In front of him, the defense functions as a back five. Issac sits as the central defender to anchor the line, while Anup and Ashok act as wide centre-backs to cover the spaces behind the wing backs. Imam operates as a left wing back to provide width and track back when needed, whereas Mamun acts as the right wing back to join the attack. This unit works to hold the line and defend zonally to deny any space in the middle.
The midfield operates as a double pivot consisting of Anis and Shagor. These two players are responsible for protecting the back five and winning the second ball. Anis and Shagor must work to compress the midfield and prevent the opposition from playing through the lines. They connect the defensive unit to the front three by recycling possession and finding the attackers quickly once the ball is recovered.
In the attacking phase, the team uses three attackers. Jobaer plays as a lone striker to hold up the ball and pin the last defender. Ritu operates as a left winger who stays wide to provide width, while Probir acts as a right winger to create chances from the flank. The movement of Imam and Mamun allows them to overlap the wingers to create overloads. This front line is tasked to press from the front to force a long ball from the opposition.
This formation offers significant tactical advantages through its ability to create wide overloads from overlapping wing backs. The team can also maintain high levels of compactness when defending in a low block. Because of the numbers in the back, the side is very difficult to break down through the center, allowing them to transition into attack with pace.
The 5-2-3 lineup is built to absorb pressure and strike on the break. It is best suited for matches against teams that dominate possession but struggle to deal with rapid counter attacks.
