Starting Lineup

Jan (Kavalirović) · Rudolf (Lukičć) · Lukáš (Modrić C.) · Marcelo (Brozović) · Juahua (Kimich) · Virgir (Van Dijk) · Mateo (Kovvačič) · Fran (García) · Džamal (Musiała) · Kilian (Mbappé) · Erling (Haland)

Šibenik prioritizes a high press and fast transitions using a 3-4-3. This lineup aims to squeeze the space in the opposition half and win the ball back high up the pitch to catch the opponent out of position. By spreading the width across the pitch, the team looks to stretch the defence and create chances through quick vertical movements.

Jan sits between the posts to command the area and organize the back line. The defensive unit functions with a back three, where Juahua acts as the central defender to hold the line and win the header in duels. Rudolf plays as the left wide centre-back to cover the space behind the midfield, while Virgir operates as the right wide centre-back. This trio works as a compact unit to deny the turn of oncoming attackers and clear the lines when under pressure.

The midfield relies on a central pairing of Fran and Lukáš to control the middle of the pitch. Fran and Lukáš work to press in a mid-block and intercept passes to prevent the opposition from building play. They connect the defence to the attack by finding the feet of the forwards or playing through the lines. Marcelo and Mateo act as wide midfielders, providing the width needed to stretch the play and often making runs to support the attacking front three.

Šibenik uses three attackers across the front to pin the last defender. Erling operates as a pressing centre-forward, using his strength to hold up the ball and fight for second balls. Džamal plays as the left winger, looking to cut inside and create chances, while Kilian operates on the right. These forwards press from the front to force a long ball from the opposition. The movement of Džamal and Kilian creates space for Erling to find pockets of room in the box.

One major advantage for Šibenik is the ability to press high in coordinated waves, making it difficult for opponents to play out from the back. The formation also allows for wide overloads when Marcelo and Mateo push forward to overlap the wingers. This creates numerical superiority in the final third and allows the team to deliver early crosses into the box.

This 3-4-3 formation is built to dominate games through aggressive pressing and quick transitions. It is best suited for matches against teams that struggle to play under pressure or those that leave large spaces behind their defensive line.
