Everton focuses on directness and verticality using a 4-2-4. This formation aims to overwhelm the opposition through heavy numbers in the attacking third and rapid transitions. The goal is to use a high press to win the ball and immediately target the front four to catch the opponent out of position.

Sam sits between the posts to organize the back line. The defense operates as a flat back four where Dias and Matt hold a central line. Matt and Torbz act as the central defenders, with Torbz tasked to cover the space behind while Matt looks to win the header during set pieces. Paris and Dias provide the width, with Paris acting as an attacking full back to support the flank and Dias to stay more disciplined to avoid being caught too high.

The midfield is a double pivot tasked with managing the transition from defense to attack. Dougie and Gee sit in front of the back four to shield the defense and recycle possession. Dougie works to carry the ball forward into the half spaces, while Gee focuses on winning the second ball and covering for the advancing full backs. This duo acts as the engine, connecting the defensive unit to the heavy attacking force ahead of them.

The front line is built to stretch the defense with two wide wingers and two central strikers. Don and Lim occupy the flanks as wingers, with Don cutting inside to create space and Lim trying to get to the byline to whip it in. In the middle, Craze and Leemo operate as a partnership. Leemo acts as a pressing centre-forward to lead the hunt from the front, while Craze looks to find the feet of the striker or run in behind to exploit gaps in the opposition defensive line.

Everton gains a massive advantage through their ability to press high in coordinated waves. By committing four players to the front, they can pin the last defender and force a long ball. Another strength is the speed of transition when Dougie or Gee intercept a pass and immediately find the wingers to create isolated one on one situations.
