A high press and quick transition game defines this lineup in a 5-3-2. The team looks to win it back high up the pitch and hit in behind on the transition to catch the opposition off guard. This formation is built to play with verticality, looking to get the ball to the forwards as quickly as possible once the ball is recovered.

Jere stays between the posts to manage the defensive line. The defense works as a back five, using a staggered back line to cover the width of the pitch. Naza sits centrally to anchor the unit, while Santi and Carita operate as the wide centre backs to cover the channels. Pipa, the captain, acts as an attacking wing back on the left to push high, while Santi occupies the right wing back role to provide width. This unit can drop into a low block or step up to squeeze the space between the lines.

The midfield operates as a three man midfield with a carrier to move the ball from deep. Pepe and Cafe play as the central engines, tasked to press aggressively to win the ball high and cover ground. Jose plays as an attacking ten behind the striker, acting as the link that connects the defensive and attacking lines. Pepe and Cafe work to win the second ball and recycle possession before feeding Jose, who looks to find the feet of the striker or play through the lines.

The attack utilizes two forwards in a partnership to stretch the defence. Nenu and Mauri work together to pin the last defender and make runs in behind. They often combine in tight spaces to pull the opposition centre backs out of position. While Mauri looks to hold up the ball, Nenu looks to burst into the channels. This setup relies on the wing backs to provide width, allowing the two forwards to focus on central movements and quick one twos.

One major advantage is the ability to press high in coordinated waves, with Jose and the forwards triggering the press while the midfield and wing backs squeeze the space. The formation also offers great compactness when defending, as the five defenders and three midfielders can sit deep and deny the turn to opposition attackers. This makes it very hard for opponents to find space in the central areas.

This 5-3-2 formation is built for teams that want to be defensively solid while remaining lethal on the break. It is best suited for facing possession heavy sides that leave space behind their high defensive line.
