Inter Football Formation
Starting Lineup
LAUTARO (Pio Esposito) · ENCISO / ATTA * (Bonny, Topalovic) · BAKU * (Diouf) · BARELLA (Sucic, recrue*) · DIMARCO (Cocchi) · ZIELINSKI (Stankovic) · THURAM (Kamate) · BASTONI (Alexiou) · LACROIX * (Akanji) · BISSECK (T.Gabriel *) · JOSEP (Calligaris)Inter focuses on high pressing and quick transitions through a 3-4-3 formation. This lineup is built to win it back high up the pitch and stretch the defence using wide players. The goal is to use aggressive ball recovery to launch direct attacks against the opponent.
JOSEP starts in goal to anchor the back line. The defence operates as a back three with BASTONI acting as the left centre back to play out from the back. BISSECK holds the right side of the central trio, while LACROIX functions as the central man to defend zonally and win the header in aerial duels. This unit maintains a high line to squeeze the space and keeps the distance between the back three and the midfield tight.
The midfield functions as a four man unit with a focus on covering ground. BARELLA operates in the central area to drive forward with the ball and press aggressively to win the ball high. ZIELINSKI sits alongside him to connect the defensive and attacking lines and recycle possession when needed. DIMARCO plays as a left midfielder to provide width and overlap the winger, while BAKU works on the right to help cover the flank and switch play.
Inter uses three attackers to pin the last defender and create constant movement. LAUTARO acts as the striker to hold up the ball and link up play between the lines. THURAM plays on the right wing to cut inside and create overloads in central areas. ENCISO / ATTA occupies the left wing to stretch the defence and make runs in behind. This front line is designed to press from the front and hit in behind on the transition.
One major advantage for Inter is the ability to create wide overloads when DIMARCO and BAKU push high. The team also benefits from numerical superiority in the middle when BARELLA and ZIELSKI push up to support the attack. This allows the side to compress the midfield and force a long ball from the opposition.
This 3-4-3 formation relies on intense pressing and quick verticality to dominate games. It is best suited for matches against teams that try to build play from the back and leave space behind their defensive line.
