Kobel operates between the posts to command the area and start attacks. The defensive unit functions as a back three, with Vuskovic acting as the central anchor to sweep behind the line and clear the lines. Khusanov plays as the right centre-back to cover the space behind the wing, while Gabriel occupies the left centre-back role to defend zonally. This trio maintains a high line to compress the space, requiring constant communication to set the offside trap and handle runners.

The midfield functions as a boxy four with two central players and two wide midfielders. Anderson and Bischof form a central pairing to control the tempo, where one player works to shield the defence while the other looks to carry the ball forward. James and Brown occupy the wide areas to provide width and track back when the team loses possession.
