RUFFINI acts as the central anchor to command the area, while BACCARO and BRALO cover the space to their sides. The wing backs, CRUZ on the right and RAMIREZ on the left, are tasked with providing width. CRUZ must work to overlap the midfield, while RAMIREZ needs to track back quickly to maintain the defensive line. The unit functions to deny space in the middle and force opponents into wide areas.

The midfield uses a three-man midfield with a carrier and an attacking ten. SASAKI and RAMIREZ sit in the central roles to shield the defense and win the second ball. RAMIREZ works to disrupt play in the middle, while SASAKI provides a link to the attack by carrying the ball forward. PRIORI operates in the hole as an attacking ten, looking to find pockets of space between the opposition lines. This trio connects the defensive block to the two forwards, ensuring that the team can move the ball from deep positions into the final third.

Boca utilizes two forwards in a partnership to lead the line. LEMA and ARIAS act as the primary threats, often working in combinations to pull defenders out of position. LEMA can act as a pressing centre-forward to harass the opposition back line, while ARIAS looks to make runs in behind the defense. When the team wins the ball, they look to hit in behind on the transition, using the width provided by the wing backs to stretch the defense. The movement is designed to create quick chances through direct passing and central link-up play.

One major advantage for Boca is the ability to remain very compact when defending, making it difficult for opponents to play through the middle. The formation also offers wide overloads when CRUZ and RAMIREZ push forward to join the attacking phase. This creates extra passing options and allows the team to quickly switch play to the flanks. The presence of PRIORI in the half-spaces helps to create numerical superiority in the final third during quick breaks.
