Boca relies on a direct and high pressing identity, operating within a 4-4-2 formation. The team looks to win the ball high up the pitch and use verticality to catch opponents out of position. This lineup is built to play with intensity, squeezing the space between the lines to force mistakes.

In goal, Oliveros acts as the last line of defense to protect the back four. The defensive unit functions as a flat back four that maintains a compact shape when sitting deep. Baccaro and Bralo occupy the central roles, where they must win the header and clear the lines when under pressure. On the flanks, Ramirez and Cruz act as full backs, tasked to track back and defend the wide areas or push up to support the midfield. The whole unit works to hold the line and set the offside trap to keep the opposition from playing through the center.

The midfield is built around a double pivot to provide stability. Ruffini and Martinez sit in front of the defense to shield the back line and pick up runners. Martinez works to deny the pivot of the opposition, while Ruffini looks to intercept passes and recycle possession. Ahead of them, Sasaki and Ramirez operate in the wide areas to provide width and service. These two players are tasked to press in a mid-block and carry the ball forward to link the defensive and attacking lines.

Boca utilizes two forwards in a partnership to lead the line. Acuña and Arias work as a front two, with Acuña often acting as a pressing centre-forward to trigger a press from the front. Arias looks to find the feet of the striker or make runs in behind to exploit gaps in the defense. They aim to combine in tight spaces and use the width provided by the wide midfielders to stretch the defense. When attacking, they look to receive on the half-turn and split the defense with a through ball.

The formation offers clear tactical strengths through its compactness when defending. By staying close together, the team can easily double up on wide players or squeeze the space in the middle. The double pivot of Ruffini and Martinez provides a strong base that allows the wide players to push higher. This creates an ability to win the second ball and break quickly once the ball is recovered in the middle third.
