Boca focuses on a compact defensive block and rapid transitions, playing a 5-3-2 formation. This lineup relies on staying hard to beat in a low block and hitting opponents on the break. The team looks to squeeze the space between the lines and use the width of the pitch when they win the ball back.

OLIVEROS sits between the posts to organize the defensive unit. The back line consists of a back three with RUFFINI acting as the central defender to command the area and win headers. BACCARO and BRALO operate as the wide centre-backs, providing cover for the wing backs and stepping up to intercept passes. CRUZ and RAMIREZ act as attacking wing backs, tasked to provide width and overlap the attackers when the team enters the final third. They must also track back quickly to maintain the defensive line.

A three-man midfield provides the engine for the Boca setup. SASAKI plays as the central pivot to shield the defense and recycle possession. To his right, DOS SANTOS works to carry the ball forward and connect the lines, while RAMIREZ operates as the left central midfielder to press aggressively and win the second ball. This trio works to compress the midfield and prevent opponents from playing through the center.

The attack features a partnership of two forwards. ACUÑA plays as the left striker to press the opposition back line and hunt for loose balls. ARIAS operates as the right striker, looking to make runs in behind the defense and finish chances created by the wing backs. They often combine in tight spaces or work to hold up the ball to allow the midfield to push up. The team builds attacks by using the width provided by the wing backs to stretch the defense before delivering crosses into the box.
