River focuses on a high press and quick transitions, utilizing a 3-4-3 formation to stretch the opposition. This lineup aims to win the ball back high up the pitch and use verticality to break the lines of the opponent. The goal is to create constant pressure in the final third while remaining compact when the ball is lost.

Santiago Beltran starts between the posts to manage the defense from deep. The back three consists of Otamendi acting as the central defender to organize the line and win headers, alongside Acuña as the left centre back and Martines Quarta as the right centre back. This defensive unit functions as a narrow defensive block that can step up to catch opponents offside or drop into a low block when under heavy pressure.

The midfield works in a central pairing with Tobias Andrada and Lucas Silva controlling the middle. These two act as a double pivot to shield the defense and recycle possession when needed. On the flanks, Montiel and Enzo Diaz operate as wide midfielders, providing the width required to spread the defense. Montiel and Enzo Diaz must track back to help the back three and ensure the team maintains a compact shape during defensive phases.

In the attacking phase, River uses three attackers to pin the last defender. Driussi acts as the lone striker to hold up the ball and find the feet of his teammates. On the wings, Almada and Garro operate as inverted wingers who cut inside to create goal scoring opportunities. This movement creates space for the wide midfielders to overlap and allows Almada and Garro to find pockets of space between the lines to play through the lines.

A major strength of this River lineup is the ability to press high in coordinated waves to force mistakes from the opponent. The formation also offers wide overloads when Montiel and Enzo Diaz push high to support the wingers. By using a three man back line, the team can also shift quickly to cover wide areas when the opposition attempts to switch play.

The 3-4-3 formation provides a heavy attacking presence that can overwhelm opponents in transition. This setup is best suited for games where the team needs to dominate territory and squeeze the space in the opponent half.
