Roma relies on a high press and rapid transitions within a 3-4-3 formation. This lineup is built to squeeze the opposition and win the ball high up the pitch to catch defenders out of position. The goal is to play vertical football that moves quickly from the defensive third into the attacking third.

Svilar operates between the posts to organize the back line. The defense uses a back three where Mancini acts as the right centre-back, providing aerial strength and physical presence. Koulierakis sits as the left centre-back to cover the wide areas, while N’Dicka plays in the middle to sweep behind the high line and intercept passes. This unit works to hold a compact shape and push up to compress the space for the opponent.

The midfield works as a central engine room to connect the defence and attack. Kone and El Aynaoui form a double pivot to shield the defence and win the second ball. Kone drives forward with the ball to break the line, while El Aynaoui stays deeper to recycle possession and protect the center. Wesley and Henrique act as wide midfielders, providing the width needed to stretch the defence and supporting the back three when defending deep.

In the attacking third, Roma uses three attackers to pin the last defender. Malen operates as a pressing centre-forward, using his movement to find gaps in the defensive line. Dybala plays on the right wing, often looking to cut inside and create chances with his vision and dribbling. Martinelli stays wide on the left to provide width and deliver crosses, creating opportunities for Malen to attack the near post or far post.

This formation offers several tactical advantages. Roma can create wide overloads when Wesley and Henrique push high to support the wingers. The double pivot of Kone and El Aynaoui allows the team to maintain control in the middle, while the aggressive press from Malen, Dybala, and Martinelli can trigger a press in the opposition half. This makes the team very dangerous during transitions.
