Carter-Vickers plays as the right centre-back to provide cover and strength, while Tierney occupies the left centre-back position to step up and support the buildup. This trio works to stay compact and squeeze the space between the defensive and midfield lines.

The midfield operates as a five man unit that aims to dominate the center of the park. McGregor acts as a single pivot to shield the defence and recycle possession, while Baur works alongside him to protect the zones in front of the back three. Hassan and Yang Hyun-jun occupy the half spaces to connect the defensive and attacking lines, with Hassan looking to drive forward with the ball. Nygren plays as an attacking ten behind the strikers to find the feet of the forwards and arrive late into the box to score.

Celtic uses two forwards in a partnership to stretch the opposition defence. Høgh plays as a pressing centre-forward to trigger a press from the front and harass the ball carriers. Durán works as a second striker to find pockets of space and make runs in behind. These two attackers work together to hold up the ball and link up play with the advancing midfielders, often using quick one-two combinations to split the defence with a through ball.
