Maldini operates as a pressing centre forward to force long balls, while Mendey plays as a second striker who looks to run in behind the last defender. The team builds the attack by using the width provided by the full backs to create overloads. When Mendey and Maldini combine in tight spaces, they aim to draw defenders out of position to create room for Fazzini to arrive late into the box.
