Starting Lineup

Bagas · Arip · Temmy · Arlan · Epung · Tepung · Tulim · Adib · Anggi (/Afnan) · Waung · Wizard

This team relies on a high press and rapid transitions, operating within a 3-5-2 formation. The lineup is built to dominate the central areas and quickly move the ball into the final third once possession is regained. By crowding the middle of the pitch, the team aims to squeeze the space available to the opposition and force errors through constant pressure.

Wizard acts as the last line of defense, starting the build up when the team plays out from the back. The defensive unit functions as a back three with Anggi anchoring the center as a dominant presence in the air. To his left, Waung acts as a ball playing defender to help move the ball forward, while Epung covers the space to the right. This trio stays compact to prevent runners from slipping through the middle, often sitting in a mid block to deny vertical passes.

The midfield is a crowded five man unit designed to control the tempo and win the second ball. Tulim and Temmy act as a double pivot to shield the defense, with Tulim often dropping deep to receive from the defenders. Arip, Adib, and Tepung operate further up the pitch to connect the defensive and attacking lines. Adib acts as the central link, while Arip and Tepung operate in the half spaces to drive forward with the ball or arrive late into the box. This midfield group works to compress the midfield and ensure the opposition cannot play through the center.

Up front, the team utilizes two forwards in a partnership to stretch the defense. Bagas plays as the lone striker to lead the press from the front, often trying to pin the last defender to create room. Arlan plays as a second striker in the hole, looking to find the feet of the striker or make runs in behind. They work in combinations to pull wide defenders out of position, often looking for cutbacks from the wide areas or quick one twos to split the defense with a through ball.

One major strength of this formation is the numerical superiority in midfield, which allows the team to dominate the ball and control the rhythm of the game. The presence of five players in the middle makes it very difficult for opponents to find passing lanes. Additionally, the team can use the wing backs and central midfielders to create wide overloads, forcing the opposition to shift across the pitch and eventually leaving gaps in the channels.

This 3-5-2 formation is built for a team that wants to control the center of the pitch through heavy pressing. It is best suited for games against opponents who try to play through the middle and struggle against a crowded midfield.
