Maicon plays on the right side to provide width, while Aldair occupies the left side. These midfielders must press in a mid-block to force a long ball from the opposition and prevent them from playing short from the back. The unit focuses on winning the ball back and immediately looking to find the outlet.

Levski employs a lone striker in Svetoslav Vutsov to lead the line. Vutsov acts as a target man to hold up the ball and allow the midfielders to move up the pitch.
