Anthony Caci and Philipp Mwene sit in front of the defense to occupy the half spaces and recycle possession. Caci and Mwene must work hard to press in a mid block and prevent the opponent from playing through the lines. They serve as the vital link, ensuring the ball moves from the central defenders to the heavy front line.

The attacking front line is extremely aggressive with four players pushing the opposition back. Sheraldo Becker and Philipp Tietz operate as two forwards in a partnership, where one can act as a pressing centre forward to harass the defenders. Nadiem Amiri and Jae-Sung Lee act as wide wingers who stretch the defence to create room in the middle. Amiri and Lee often cut inside to create goal scoring chances or to allow the midfield to underlap.
