Elche focus on a high press and direct attacking play using a 3-4-3 formation. This lineup is built to squeeze the pitch and win the ball back high up the pitch to catch opponents off guard. The team wants to play with intensity and use the width of the pitch to stretch the defence.

Dituro operates between the posts to start any build up. The back line works as a back three with Chust acting as the left centre back and Affrengruber playing as the right centre back. Redondo sits in the middle to command the area and win the header. These three defenders play a high line to keep the team compact and ensure the distance between the defensive unit and the midfield remains small.

The midfield operates in a central pairing with Aguado and Villar working to control the middle of the pitch. Aguado looks to drive forward with the ball while Villar works to connect the defensive and attacking lines. They are supported by wide midfielders Sangare and Valera who act as attacking wing backs. Sangare and Valera must track back to help the back three but they also push high to overlap the wingers and provide crosses.

The attacking front line consists of three players designed to pin the last defender. Niño acts as the lone striker to hold up the ball and find the feet of the striker. Houary and Neto play as wide attackers, with Houary on the left and Neto on the right. These two attackers cut inside to create space for the wide midfielders to cross. They press the opposition back line aggressively to force a long ball and win the second ball.

Elche possess a strong ability to press in coordinated waves which creates many chances in transition. The presence of Sangare and Valera allows for wide overloads when they push up to join the front three. This setup makes the team very difficult to play through in the middle.

This 3-4-3 formation is built for a high intensity game where winning the ball back quickly is the priority. It is best suited for facing teams that play out from the back and struggle under heavy pressure.
