Up front, the team employs two forwards in a partnership with two wide attackers. MCO and A work together as a central duo, with A often acting as a target to hold up the ball and MCO looking to arrive late into the box. On the flanks, MS and MD act as wide wingers who aim to get to the byline. MS and MD will often pull wide to stretch the defense, creating gaps for MCO and A to exploit in the middle. This front line is designed to press from the front, forcing the opposition to play long and allowing the Romanian team to regain control.

This formation offers specific tactical advantages, such as the ability to create wide overloads when the full backs push up to support MS and MD. Romania can also use the two central attackers to pin the last defender, allowing the wingers to attack the far post. The presence of two central midfielders provides stability to prevent being overrun during defensive transitions.
