Tarnovanu stays between the posts to organize the back line. The defensive unit works as a flat back four to maintain a solid line. Nghezana and Dawa act as the central defenders, where Nghezana uses his strength to win headers and Dawa provides cover to sweep behind the line. On the flanks, Cretu and Radunovic play as full backs, tasked with tracking back to defend wide areas while being ready to support the attack when the ball moves forward.

The midfield functions as a double pivot to provide stability. Gnahore and Paolo sit in front of the defense to shield the back four and protect the central zones. Gnahore works to intercept passes and win the second ball, while Paolo looks to recycle possession and connect the defensive unit to the attackers. They must stay compact to ensure the team is not caught out when the front four push high up the pitch.

The attacking front line consists of four players designed to stretch the defense. Popescu and Miculescu act as wide wingers who stay high to provide width. Popescu can cut inside to cause trouble while Miculescu looks to get to the byline and whip in crosses. In the center, Tanase and Birligea work as a partnership. Tanase can drop into the hole to link play, while Birligea acts as a presence to hold up the ball and allow the others to run in behind.

FCSB gains a significant advantage through the heavy numbers in the attacking phase, which can force the opposition into a deep block. The formation allows for quick transitions where the team can break quickly with four players already moving toward the goal. This setup also creates many chances for the wingers to isolate defenders in one on one situations.
