Bart sits between the posts to command the area and organize the defensive line. Brighton employs a flat back four that maintains a high line to squeeze the space in the middle of the pitch. Mats acts as an attacking full back on the right, while Ferdi pushes up on the left to provide width. In the center, Luka and Lewis defend the zone, with Luka acting as a ball playing defender to start attacks and Lewis providing cover to sweep behind the high line.

The midfield functions as a three-man midfield with a carrier and creative presence. Carlos sits in the pivot to shield the defense and recycle possession when the team needs to reset. Yasin and Diego operate as the two central midfielders, tasked to drive forward with the ball and connect the defensive and attacking lines. Diego works to press aggressively to win the ball high, while Yasin looks to find the feet of the striker or play through the lines to find the forwards.

Up front, the team uses three attackers across the front to pin the last defender. Yankuba operates as an inverted winger on the right, looking to cut inside and create goal scoring chances. Kaoru plays on the left wing, often looking to get to the byline and deliver early crosses. Charalampous leads the line as a pressing centre-forward, working to disrupt the opposition build up and make runs in behind the defense to finish combinations.

One major tactical advantage for Brighton is the ability to press high in coordinated waves, which forces turnovers in dangerous areas. The team also creates wide overloads when Mats and Ferdi overlap the wingers, forcing the opposition to defend much larger spaces. This setup allows the players to create many one on one situations for the attackers in the final third.
