They must stay compact to prevent runners from breaking through while ensuring they stay high enough to support the press.

The midfield works as a three-man midfield with a carrier and a creative presence. BEÑAT acts as the link between the defence and the attack, helping to recycle possession and find teammates. YANGEL provides energy in the left channel to press aggressively and win the ball back in the middle third. ARSEN plays as an attacking ten behind the striker, operating in the pockets of space to find through balls or arrive late into the box. This group must work to squeeze the space between the lines.

Real Sociedad utilizes three attackers across the front to pin the opposition back. ORRI acts as a pressing centre-forward to lead the hunt from the front and disrupt the build up. On the flanks, GONÇALO and PABLO act as inverted wingers who cut inside to create central chaos.
