In the center, Javi and Carl form the core of the defence, with Javi providing strength in the air while Carl acts as a ball playing defender to help play out from the back. The unit works to squeeze the space and hold a high line to support the heavy press.

A double pivot sits in front of the back four to manage the central area. Matías and Ilaix act as the engine, with Ilaix working to shield the defence and Matías driving forward with the ball to link the lines. This midfield pairing must be disciplined to prevent counter attacks, as they are often left isolated against three attackers. They focus on winning the second ball and recycling possession to keep the pressure on the opponent.

The attack is built around four players who push high to force the opposition into deep blocks. Iago and Borja operate as two forwards in a partnership, with Iago looking to find the feet of the striker and Borja looking to hit in behind on the transition. On the flanks, Ferran and Williot act as wide wingers who stay high, looking to isolate a one on one wide or deliver early crosses into the box. This front line presses from the front to trigger a press high up the pitch.

This formation offers massive tactical advantages through its ability to create wide overloads and numerical superiority in the attacking third. By committing four players forward, Celta can quickly switch play to catch the opposition out of position. The sheer number of attackers makes it very difficult for teams to defend the width and the center at the same time.
