Starting Lineup
Mo · Mustafa · Karim · Ouahid · Harmeet · Sadik (Loutfi) · Mounir (Ger) · Mo (Appie) · Rabie · Oualid · Yassin (Mo Kurd)This team focuses on a direct and high pressing style of play using a 4-4-2 formation. The lineup is built to win the ball back quickly and move the play forward with speed. By using two banks of four, the team looks to compress the space between the lines and force mistakes from the opposition.
Mo stays between the posts to manage the defensive line. The back four operates as a flat back four, with Harmeet and Mustafa acting as full backs on either side. Karim and Ouahid form the central pairing, where they must hold the line and defend zonally. Karim and Ouahid need to communicate well to cover space when Mustafa or Harmet push up, ensuring the team does not get caught out when the full backs advance.
In the center of the pitch, the team utilizes a double pivot to control the middle. Mounir and Sadik work together to shield the defense and win the second ball. Mounir acts as a carrier to move the ball from deep, while Sadik looks to intercept passes and recycle possession. Ahead of them, Rabie and Mo operate in the half spaces as two tens. Rabie and Mo are tasked to press aggressively to win the ball high and provide service to the front two.
The attack relies on a partnership of two forwards, Oualid and Yassin. They work as a duo to press the opposition back line from the front. Oualid often plays as a pressing centre-forward to disrupt the build up, while Yassin looks to find space and make runs in behind. The team uses the width provided by the full backs to create chances, looking to deliver crosses or cut it back to the oncoming midfielders.
One major strength of this formation is the ability to press high in coordinated waves. Because Rabie, Mo, Oualid, and Yassin all occupy advanced positions, they can trigger a press that forces the opposition to play long balls. Another advantage is the compactness when defending in a mid-block, as the two lines of four make it difficult for opponents to play through the middle.
This 4-4-2 formation provides a balanced platform for direct attacking and heavy pressing. It is best suited for games where the team needs to squeeze the space and hit the opponent on the transition.
