A high pressing and direct style of play defines this lineup, which utilizes a 4-2-4 formation. The team aims to win the ball high up the pitch and quickly hit in behind on the transition to catch the opposition out of position. This formation is built to overwhelm the opponent through heavy numbers in the final third, prioritizing attacking intent over defensive stability.

Goalie acts as the last line of defense, guarding the goal while the rest of the team pushes forward. A flat back four provides the base for the defensive unit, consisting of LB, LCB, RCB, and RB. These defenders must hold the line and stay compact to avoid being split by long balls. While the full backs need to track back to cover wide areas, the central defenders focus on winning the second ball and clearing the lines when under pressure.

The midfield works as a double pivot, with LCM and RCM sitting in front of the defensive line. These two players are tasked to shield the defense and deny the turn to opposing attackers. They must also act as the engine room, recycling possession and looking to break the line with quick passes. Their primary job is to protect the central space and pick up runners who try to exploit the gaps between the midfield and the defense.

In the final third, the team employs three attackers across the front alongside a central striker. The CF acts as the focal point to find the feet of the striker, while LW and RW provide width by spreading wide to stretch the defense. The CF operates in the hole as a second striker to connect the midfield and attack. This front line is designed to press from the front, forcing the opposition to play long and allowing the team to regain control.

One major advantage of this lineup is the ability to create immediate pressure in the attacking third, often pinning the last defender with high intensity. The numerical superiority in the final third allows for quick combinations and the ability to isolate wide players in one on one situations. This high volume of players in advanced areas makes it difficult for opponents to build play from the back without facing immediate contact.

This 4-2-4 formation relies on aggressive pressing and rapid verticality to dominate games. It is best suited for matches where the team needs to chase a result or exploit an opponent that struggles to play out from the back.
