Calhanoglu acts as the deep lying playmaker, sitting in front of the defense to recycle possession and spray passes. Barella works as a carrier to drive forward with the ball and link the defensive and attacking lines. Zielinski provides support in the half spaces, looking to arrive late into the box. On the flanks, Dimarco and Spence act as attacking wing backs to provide width and cover the entire length of the pitch.

In the attacking phase, Inter utilizes two forwards in a partnership to pin the last defender. Lautaro plays as a pressing centre forward, using his movement to find space and link up play. M. Thuram works alongside him to provide runs in behind and hold up the ball to bring others into the game. Dimarco and Spence push high to create wide overloads, allowing the strikers to focus on central combinations.
