Starting Lineup

Sánchez · Ndukwe · Mandi · Dela · Eyong · Romero · Bardeli · Sotelo · Álvarez · Fernández · Ryan

Levante focus on a heavy high press and aggressive verticality with a 2-5-3 formation. This lineup is built to win the ball high up the pitch and strike quickly before the opposition can settle. The goal is to overwhelm the middle of the park and use a dense midfield to dominate every second ball.

Ryan sits in goal as the last line of defense for Levante. The defensive unit relies on a narrow back two consisting of Ndukwe and Mandi. These two central defenders must be prepared to step up to set the offside trap or cover large spaces when the high press is bypassed. Because there are only two defenders, Ndukwe and Mandi must communicate perfectly to protect the central zone and handle any runners coming from deep.

The midfield is a massive engine room designed to control the center and push the play forward. Sánchez and Dela operate as a double pivot to shield the two central defenders and recycle possession. Ahead of them, Sotelo and Bardeli play as inverted eights to connect the defensive and attacking lines. Sotelo can carry the ball forward into the half spaces, while Bardeli looks to arrive late into the box. Álvarez plays as an attacking ten behind the striker, acting as the primary creator to split the defence with a through ball.

In the final third, the team utilizes three attackers to stretch the opposition. Eyong acts as a pressing centre-forward to force long balls and pin the last defender. On the flanks, Fernández and Romero work as wide wingers who hug the touchline to spread the width of the pitch. Fernández tends to cut inside to create space for others, while Romero looks to get to the byline and deliver early crosses. This attacking trio works to isolate wide players in one on one situations or combine in tight spaces to break the line.

One major tactical advantage is the numerical superiority in midfield which allows the team to squeeze the space and dominate the center. By packing the middle with five players, Levante can quickly win it back high up the pitch and transition into attack. Another strength is the ability to create wide overloads when the wingers and attacking midfielders coordinate their runs.

This 2-5-3 formation is a high risk high reward system centered on dominance and aggression. It is best suited for games where the team needs to break down a low block or overwhelm an opponent through sheer central intensity.
