Starting Lineup

Dinamo focus on controlling the center of the pitch and winning the ball back high up the pitch through a 3-5-2 formation. This lineup is built to dominate the middle thirds and use a heavy presence in the center to squeeze the space available to the opposition. The team looks to transition quickly from a compact block to a vertical attack once possession is regained.

Vidović plays behind a back three that acts as a central wall. Veraja operates as the right centre-back, while Bilaver takes the left centre-back role, leaving Kanjer to command the middle of the defensive line. This back three can drop into a low block when under pressure or step up to set the offside trap. The defenders aim to clear the lines when necessary and hold a compact shape to prevent any direct runs in behind.

The midfield unit is a dense block designed to overwhelm opponents. Ivandić and Pestić work as a double pivot to shield the defense and disrupt play. Buljat and Petrović operate as two inverted eights, pushing into the half-spaces to connect the defensive and attacking lines. Skopljak plays as an attacking ten behind the strikers, tasked to find pockets of space and receive on the half-turn to drive the team forward. This midfield group works to compress the midfield and ensure no passing lanes are left open.

Dinamo utilizes two forwards in a partnership to lead the press from the front. Bulum and Blaić work in tandem, with Bulum often acting to hold up the ball and Blaić looking for runs in behind. The attacking duo is expected to press the opposition back line to force a long ball or a mistake. They combine in tight spaces to pull defenders out of position, creating opportunities for Skopljak to arrive late into the box or for the wide midfielders to find space.

A major advantage for Dinamo is the numerical superiority in midfield, which allows them to control the tempo of the game. The ability to press in a mid-block or high up the pitch in coordinated waves makes it difficult for opponents to build play from the back. Furthermore, the presence of four central midfielders alongside the attacking ten provides great cover when defending and allows for quick ball recycling to stretch the defense.

This 3-5-2 formation creates a heavy central presence that is hard to bypass. It is best suited for games where Dinamo can squeeze the opposition and win the second ball in the middle of the park.
