Gakpo plays as an inverted winger on the left, cutting inside to create space for Kerkez to overlap. On the right, Ngumoha stays wide to stretch the opposition, looking to isolate a one on one situation against the full back.

This 4-2-4 lineup offers huge tactical advantages through its ability to press in coordinated waves. By having four players high up the pitch, Liverpool can trigger a press from the front and immediately win the second ball. The formation also creates wide overloads when Frimpong and Ngumoha combine to overwhelm the opponent.
