Piast prioritizes defensive solidity and counter attacking opportunities through a 5-4-1 formation. This lineup is built to absorb pressure and hit opponents when they overcommit. The team focuses on staying compact to deny space between the lines, waiting for the right moment to break quickly once the ball is won.

Ntamack operates between the posts to organize the defensive line. The back five consists of Drachal, Leśniak, and Łobojko sitting in a narrow defensive block. Drachal acts as a central anchor to win the header and clear the lines, while Leśniak and Łobojko provide cover to the sides. On the flanks, Lima and Vallejo act as attacking wing backs who must track back to form a solid line of five when out of possession. This unit works to squeeze the space and deny the turn to opposition attackers.

The midfield operates as a flat four to maintain a compact block. Juande and Fikaj sit in the center to protect the back line and win the second ball. Juande works to shield the defense, while Fikaj seeks to receive on the half-turn to connect the defensive and attacking lines. On the wings, Lewicki and Twumasi provide width and defensive cover. Lewicki and Twumasi must press in a mid-block to force a long ball and prevent the opposition from playing short from the back.

The five defenders and four midfielders create a wall that is difficult to penetrate through the middle. Another advantage is the capacity for wide overloads when Lima and Vallejo push up to overlap the midfielders.
